Children's Participation in Public Decision-making
This review of practice in Europe was commissioned by Eurochild for its bi-annual conference taking place in Croatia in October 2018. The review provides an overview of current practice on children’s participation in public decision making and explains its importance. Using results from a survey of Eurochild members, the report provides examples of children’s participation that are inclusive of children from disadvantaged backgrounds. New and innovative Form of Youth Participation
This study investigated how young people in Europe are choosing to participate, whether these methods enable them to be represented in decision-making processes and the impact of ‘new and innovative’ forms of youth participation. The report identifies examples of practices which promote and help to consolidate democracy. The findings and recommendations are intended to inform the Youth Department’s work in this field.
